Political Science
The Department of Political Science is engaged in sensitizing the students and the community at large about the political process. Students participation is garnered through assignments, presentations ,Seminars and field visits. The Department conducts Voters Registration Drives, Celebrates important days Like Constitution Day ,Human Rights Day, Gandhi Jayanti and National Voters Day by organising Activities in Collaboration with Extension units like NSS and DLLE. The department every year organizes Youth Parliament to make the students aware about the parliamentary proceedings. The department received Overall Championship Trophy for Youth Parliament(2016-17) in Prize Distribution Ceremony on 15 th August 2017 and 9 th Sept.2017 respectively by dignitaries of University of Mumbai.Special emphasis is placed upon visit and excursions for garnering practical knowledge. Students from the department Remedial lectures are conducted for weak students and Special guidance in reference is provided to advanced learners. The department through its interactive teaching and various activities hope to make each student an informed citizen.
Goals & Objective
The main objectives of the department are:
- To impart basic knowledge of political process including institutions, organs and functions of the government.
- To provide students with learning experiences that will equip them to face the global challenges.
- To sensitize the students about the local issues and foster civic responsibility among the students.
- To prepare them to become active, engaged and responsible citizens of the society.
