Greetings from the Principal, Drt’s A. E. Kalsekar Degree college, Kausa- Mumbra, Thane, University of Mumbai.
Kalsekar Degree college is a premier didactic institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai located at the outskirts of thane city. Its student culture is vivacious and rich. The vision , mission is well defined and the institute indulge in achieving it in all its endeavours. The visionary, a humanitarians of our trust had a vision for community education. They saw education as an exercise in aiding the nation’s growth. We have come a long way from those early years.
Today, the Kalsekar college is a leading place for community education and emerged as ‘model’ in the locality. Be it academics, extra-curricular or co-curricular events, Kalsekar has demonstrated itself time and again.
In prodigiously challenging times such the pandemic, Kalsekar has appeared as an inspiration of brilliance. We have maintained, even adapted well, to the new conditions of online teaching. We have obtained B++ grade in the last NAAC cycle. From the inception till date, we have produced a few university rank-holders from different departments. The students have won several awards in sports and cultural activities. They have been placed at different organizations and businesses nationwide and worldwide. Kalsekar seeks to actively contest the challenges brought in by online education. The college staff and Principal had worked diligently to guarantee fairness in access to online classes. Kalsekar’s rich and socially vibrant college works in innumerable ways to ensure equal access to education, though online or offline. We also have offered substantial monetary aid provided to us by our honourable management for all our endeavours.
We endeavour to become a global community by taking all possible initiatives. We participate in multiple outreach programmes and initiatives. Students, in the course of their study, come across several outreach programmes that give them access to transmute lives and the world around them. Student are encouraged to participate in co-curricular, extracurricular activities on and off campus. Kalsekar has stunning infrastructure that is located in the lap of nature. We are known for our green and clean campus. We have ICT-enabled classrooms, seminar hall, open space and common rooms.
Our faculty is trained and bring up-to-date themselves constantly. We continued to hold abundant workshops, training programmes online during the pandemic.
We at Kalsekar uninterruptedly strive for academic excellence. Our teaching-learning process is continuously sprouting and with the changing times, we aspire and successfully create leaders. As said by Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” We strive to bring the holistic cultural and moral bound education in the Kalsekarites.
