English
The Dept. of English has been rampant in improvising and enhancing English language and inculcating literary temperament amongst the students. The department is actively involved in organizing seminars, Film screening, symposia, debates, workshops, Certificate Courses, conference and research activities. The department offers English literature at UG level. Mass Communication and Business Communication are taught at Inter-disciplinary subjects. The Department also provides Career Counselling and mentoring to the students both in and beyond the classroom.
Goals
The students develop basic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing English. They develop critical understanding of the Intricacies involved in fictional and nonfictional writings and appreciate literary genres of Indian and International recognition. They become confident enough to interact at professional levels.
Objectives
- To improve skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English.
- To equip students with perspectives to evaluate literary genres.
- To help students apply learned approaches in their daily lives.
- To make students aware of prominent literary writers and their works.
